Does Cannabis Affect Sex?

East Caroline University uncovers what goes on under the covers when weed gets involved!

A study by University of East Carolina alumna Amanda Moser revealed that both men and women can experience improved sex with the help of cannabis.

Delivery companies like GRASSDOOR were delighted to learn that weed can fit into a healthy sex life.

The study, published online and reported on Marijuana Moment, states that “participants perceived that cannabis use increased their sexual functioning and satisfaction.”

According to Moser’s research, gender factors nor age made a difference in the discovery that cannabis before sex can lead to “increased desire, orgasm intensity, and masturbation pleasure.”

Whether you’re consuming marijuana for the first time or are a veteran of cannabis delivery, here’s some more info on the ground-breaking study!

Shining a light under the covers: weed makes for better sex

As part of her master’s program in human development and family science, Moser conducted countrywide research aiming to shine a light on cannabis use after dark. Explaining to Marijuana Moment in a phone interview, “people who were 18 years old had amazing benefits as well as people up to 85 years old, and everyone in between. All found that cannabis was beneficial for their sexual functioning as well as their sexual satisfaction.”

Building an online survey that could be completed anonymously, Moser targeted people aged 18 and up who said that they had used cannabis. The survey was designed to study human sexual responses, from erection maintenance to vaginal lubrication and to assess whether weed enables more sensitivity to smell, hearing, touch and taste. The study claimed that touch and taste awareness were “significantly enhanced” thanks to the herb.

811 people responded to the survey, unanimously claiming that cannabis had improved their sexual responses and experiences. Marijuana Moment at the time of writing had not studied the evidence themselves, as Moser is busy trying to get her work published in a journal.

The study further revealed that some women who had used cannabis prior to sex were able to achieve multiple orgasms and that both men and women had discovered masturbatory benefits due to cannabis usage.

Cannabis for caballeros: Effective for men too

One of Moser’s most surprising discoveries what that cannabis was effective for male erection and functioning.

“Previous literature said that cannabis is a muscle relaxer, and suggested it would be more inhibiting for males—that males would have a harder time achieving and maintaining an erection,” she said. “It makes sense, but my research actually showed contradicting to that. I found that [cannabis] does not affect males’ ability to achieve and maintain an erection, that males did not report having any issues with that.”

Moser then theorized that acting as a vasodilator enables better blood flow to the penis, cannabis is great for erectile function because it allows the blood to circulate.

Moser’s main quest is to publish research that closes “the orgasm inequality gap”, she explained, “to me, that’s a problem.” More females should be having more orgasms. Maybe cannabis can help with that.” She added.
