Warm Sweet Hot Chocolate & Canna-Cocoa
We spent hours frolicking in the icy fluff which makes a pretty backdrop.
After all the outdoor joy, I poured out the homemade hot chocolate.
I remember being young and sledding for hours. Then we’d clamor inside, wiggle out of our wet outerwear, and bee-line for the envelopes of Swiss Miss.
I can practically taste that watery cup of sugar, preservatives, and artificial flavors and can’t help but wonder how I ever enjoyed it.
Homemade hot chocolate is a thousand times better (and better for you!).
Homemade hot chocolate is easy to make. Ditch the envelopes. Make real homemade hot chocolate instead!
Here’s my recipe. All wholesome, natural ingredients that leave me feeling good about what I’m feeding my kids.
Homemade Hot Chocolate
3.5 Cups of Milk (or Substitute)
3 Tablespoons Cocoa Power or Carob Powder
3 Tablespoons Coconut Sugar
½ Teaspoon Cinnamon
½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/8 Teaspoon Salt
Dash – 1/8 Teaspoon Chili Powder (depending on preferred heat level)
The chili powder adds dimension and highlights the cocoa. If you don’t like heat, just use a light sprinkle.
Combine in a saucepan. Heat on low for 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Makes 4 servings.
Canna-Cocoa – Wholesome, Homemade Hot Chocolate with Cannabis Infused Oil
Weed hot cocoa is one of the easiest and quickest ways to take my medication.
It’s simple to make. If I have a pot of hot chocolate made, then I add the completed hot chocolate and one dose of canna-oil into the Nutri-Bullet for a whirl. It comes out frothy and perfect.
If I don’t have a pot of hot chocolate ready, then I follow my Cocoa-for-One Recipe.
6 – 8 ounces of Warm Milk or Milk Substitute
2 Teaspoons Cocoa Powder or Carob Powder
1 Teaspoon Coconut Sugar
1/8 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/8 Teaspoon Vanilla
Dash of Salt
Dash of Chili Powder
*For Canna-Cocoa Add 1 Dose of Canna-Oil
Heat Milk Prior to Adding Canna-Oil. Combine all ingredients in blender. Whirl until combined and frothy.
